To Lift or Not to Lift

Is a facelift inevitable?

Whether you’re in the camp of fighting aging every step of the way, embracing your age and making the best of it without surgery or you fall somewhere in between…the truth is, no one can escape gravity. Unless we all end up living in space, our bodies are going to slowly but surely sag, droop and drop. Fun times!

As with almost everything in life, we subscribe to the adage, “to each their own”. Zero judgement for those dipping their toes in filler, lasers or going under the knife. At the same time, more power to the people embracing their age like a fine wine or precious metal. They might choose to look at each wrinkle as one that was earned. Good for them! The way we all approach aging is so incredibly personal. It’s impossible to say what’s right or wrong.

We started to hear the facelift whispers a few years back. What was typically a surgery done in your late 50’s, 60’s and 70’s has been moved up a decade or three! We’re hearing the advice and warnings loud and clear, “get a facelift before you need a facelift.” Really? Ugh. There was a part of us secretly hoping for a “liquid facelift” or a magic laser that would lift, smooth and tighten everything right on up. It seems like new procedures are rolling out every few months. Is cutting really the answer?
