You’ve probably heard it by now. Changes in sleep patterns are often associated with the Peri/Meno phase of life that inevitably, we’ve all been in or will be in at some point. Laura is the youngest of the GTI trio but was sure she was slowly feeling the symptoms of Peri/Meno creeping in when her sleep (or lack there of) started changing.
Laura has always been diligent when it comes to seeing a doctor. She finds the right person or follows up with a trusted physician or expert when she has questions or changes in her health. She also is (and always has been) big on sleep! Laura will do whatever it takes to get a good night’s sleep. She never even pulled an all-nighter in college. After a few months of struggling to fall asleep and feeling/looking haggard the next day, she made an appt. with her functional doctor. She shared that she was taking sleep aids such as CBD or melatonin on a daily basis to attempt to fall asleep (and quite a lot of it). During a stressful week or on a trip when good sleep doesn’t always come easily, especially on the first night, her doctor said taking those things were fine and necessary if sleep wasn’t coming. The doctor became concerned however, when she was taking large amounts of CBD almost nightly to get the sleep she needed.
